Pending

1-31 December

Over 60 suspendable artist-made objects
Viewable online and through our windows
All profits support the artists and the San Mei Gallery exhibition and education programme

San Mei is pleased to launch Pending, an exhibition both online and viewable through our windows, which raises vital funds for San Mei Gallery's artistic and education programme, as well as providing financial support to artists affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Drawing on the dual sense of suspension and waiting, particularly apt to the limbo we have collectively felt this year, Pending is an exhibition consisting of small artist-made objects which hang from the ceiling. We invited a number of artists to respond to this brief over the second lockdown, resulting in a diverse and eclectic collection of artworks available to purchase from our website. Hang them from your ceilings or sit them on your mantlepieces...

San Mei Gallery supports artists, architects and designers at critical junctures in their careers in realising publicly accessible, research-led projects in their South London space. This will be the first in a series of fundraising initiatives as we look to raise £36,000 over the coming months to support the costs of our 2021-22 exhibitions and the education projects with our local Lambeth communities that run alongside them.

All profits are split 50/50 between the artists and this fundraising initiative. All purchases will support emerging artists, new projects and community outreach.
